Good Mower

I have had this mower for four years now, 5 mowing seasons, serviced annually. On my last mow of the season, the welding holding the deck to the frame broke off on the right side. Seems like an odd place to have broke, as there was no indication of rusting or that it was being worn down. I live on a decent sized property that has a big hill and this mower did me well. Trying to find a deck to replace it with no luck. Disappointed in having to replace or buy another. I’ve had issues with my belt shredding after less than a year of use, and turning left sometimes.

Craftsman z5400

I have been using my z5400 since I bought it this year. So far it's been a good machine it cuts well and drives smoothly. It has only let me down one time and that's because the choke/throttle cable came out of the main lever. Simple fix but could be made better. Rides great cuts great and leaves nice stripes in the yard. Starts on the first crank every time. Wish it had an hour meter so I could keep up with my hours but besides the point I'm very impressed with it. It has plenty of power for what it is I have mowed some pretty thick and tall grass with it and not once has it shut off it mows right through. Definitely will be buying another craftsman to add to my fleet in the future. Great price and just a good machine

Big man's mower

Good looking unit. Serious overkill for my yard, but being 6'8" tall this was the smallest zero turn I could fit on.(throttle handles wouldn't clear my knees on other units even at their highest point.) Runs great, very comfortable seat. Easy use. Definitely a learning curve. Throttle levers are very touchy. Going to take some practice.

Best mower I have ever owned

Bought this Z5400 on Wednesday 4/12/21 from Lowe's, was delivered on Friday 4/14/21. Never had a zero turn before, man do I love this. Having so much fun I cut the grass twice in four days. The 46" cut is way better then my old 42" riding mower. Only thing I had to do was adjust the handles to my size, you won't be sorry if you buy one of these.

Cut my mowing time in half

Upgraded from a 42" lawn tractor to the Z5400 and I kick myself for not doing it sooner. Two acres used to take me 3 hours, now I'm done in about 90 minutes including trimming. The zero turn is so intuitive after the first mow. Deck leaves a clean, even cut and the Kohler starts first turn every time.

Solid machine for the money

Great mower, minor learning curve

First zero turn and there is a small learning curve with the lap bars, but after two mows it becomes second nature. Cuts beautifully and handles my sloped backyard with no issues. Only reason for 4 stars is I wish it came with the mulch kit included. Highly recommend overall.
